Terms of Sale
These Terms of Sale apply when you buy or redeem a complimentary Lightning TV viewing pass. Please read them before paying or getting access. They form part of the contract between you and us, together with the pass description, order summary and Refund and service failure policy.
1. Who we are
Lightning TV is operated by Milton Keynes Ice Hockey Club ltd (“Lightning TV”, “we”, “us” or “our”), registered in England and Wales under company number 11917911. Our registered office is The Pinnacle, Building A, 150-170 Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK9 1FD.
You can contact Lightning TV at [email protected] or write to Planet Ice, Elder Gate, Milton Keynes, MK9 1DL.
2. Who may buy a pass
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. If a viewer is under 18, their parent or guardian must make the purchase and remain responsible for the account. You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Registration is open and does not require an invitation, membership or staff approval. You must verify the account email before checkout. Registration and email verification do not themselves provide access to a paid broadcast: access comes from a completed order, an eligible complimentary discount redemption, or a separate manual or staff grant recorded against the account.
3. Passes and broadcasts
A pass provides personal, account-based access to the live video broadcasts identified on the product page and in the order summary. A pass may cover one fixture, a tracked season or an opponent bundle. A season pass includes every production broadcast assigned to the season shown at checkout, including games assigned to that season later, at no extra charge. An opponent bundle includes every production broadcast involving the opposing team shown at checkout, including matching games added later, at no extra charge. An individual-game pass is withdrawn from sale when its fixture is marked finished; this does not cancel or erase an existing order or its record. The fixtures available at checkout and later additions are saved with your order. We will not remove access to an included fixture without applying the remedies described in the Refund policy.
Former beta invitations and legacy stream codes are not viewing credentials and cannot be used to register, buy or watch. An account retains any independent access supported by a valid order, discount redemption, manual grant or staff grant.
Unless a product page expressly says otherwise, a pass provides live viewing only and does not include a replay, download, physical ticket, venue admission or an automatically renewing subscription. Fixture statistics and fan messages are optional supporting features. Their availability can differ by fixture or change during a live game; disabling them does not withdraw the purchased live video.
For a scheduled broadcast, the restricted fixture page opens 60 minutes before the published face-off and the video player opens 40 minutes before it. Before each boundary, the page shows a countdown and changes automatically when the relevant access window starts. A “Starting shortly” message after the video window opens means the contribution channel is still being prepared or has not yet received the venue feed.
A Lightning TV pass is separate from any ticket for admission to Planet Ice or another venue. Venue and ticket-agent terms apply to a separately purchased admission ticket; they do not turn a streaming pass into a venue ticket.
4. How the contract is made
- You choose a pass, sign in to a verified account and review the included fixtures, price and key access restrictions.
- If a balance remains, Stripe presents the final charge, including any local-currency conversion and the VAT already contained in the price where applicable, and asks you to confirm payment and accept these terms. If a valid code reduces the price to zero, you accept these terms on Lightning TV and no card details are requested.
- Your order is accepted when payment is confirmed, or when a zero-price code is successfully redeemed, and we make the pass available to your account. The order confirmation is your record of the contract.
If payment is declined, checkout expires or a price or product error makes the order invalid, no viewing contract is formed. We will refund any amount taken for an order we cannot accept.
5. Price and payment
Catalogue prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies. The price shown by Lightning TV is the total GBP price: VAT is calculated from that amount and is not added on top. Stripe may offer and charge an equivalent amount in another currency and will show the converted total and included tax before you pay. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number or card security code.
An eligible discount code reduces the catalogue price by the whole-number percentage shown in the order summary. Only one code may be used for an order. Codes may be restricted to a season, named opponent or fixture, may have validity and redemption limits, and may expire after the relevant fixture. A season code can cover a multi-game season pass only when every included broadcast is an eligible home game in that season; an opponent code can cover an opponent bundle only when every included broadcast is an eligible home game against that opponent. A fixture-specific code can cover only its named individual-game pass. The review page identifies the included games before you continue.
Redeeming a code for a multi-game pass applies the displayed percentage to the whole pass, grants every included broadcast and counts as a redemption for each included fixture under that code's per-fixture limit. If we later add another fixture that matches the redeemed code's season or opponent scope, it is granted at no extra charge and recorded as a zero-price fixture addition. A 100% discount creates complimentary account-based access and an auditable zero-price order without sending you to a card-payment flow.
A code is not cash, cannot be exchanged for money and does not itself remain the viewing credential after redemption. You must redeem it while signed in to an account with an email address; the resulting pass belongs to that account. Do not sell, publish or use a code outside its intended recipient or purpose. We may deactivate, revoke or replace an unused or compromised code, but we retain completed redemption and order records. A failed or abandoned checkout does not itself consume the code, although a short reservation may prevent simultaneous checkout attempts.
6. Starting supply and cancellation rights
Viewing access may become available as soon as payment is confirmed. Where the law gives you a cooling-off right, it may be affected when digital content or a time-specific service begins. We will only treat a statutory cancellation right as lost where all legal requirements—including any required express request, consent and acknowledgement—have been met. See the Refund policy for how to cancel or make a claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Using your pass
Your pass is for private, domestic viewing by the account holder. One active playback session is permitted at a time; moving playback to another device may end the earlier session. Casting to a supported television remains part of the same protected session.
You must not:
- share, sell, transfer or publish your account, pass or playback access;
- sell, publish, guess automatically or knowingly misuse a discount code issued for a player, panel member, visiting team or another limited purpose;
- record, copy, retransmit, publicly screen or commercially exploit a broadcast without permission;
- circumvent access controls, probe the service, interfere with other viewers or use automated tools to extract content or data; or
- use the service unlawfully or in a way that infringes another person’s rights.
If we reasonably believe an account has seriously or repeatedly breached these terms—including by sharing access, retransmitting a broadcast, circumventing controls or acting fraudulently—we may block the account, stop an active stream and withdraw access to affected broadcasts. A refund will not normally be due where access is reasonably blocked because of that breach. This does not affect any statutory right, including a remedy for a separate failure by us. We will preserve relevant access records and review a claimed mistake if you contact support.
8. Devices, internet and availability
You are responsible for a compatible, supported browser or device, a sufficiently fast and stable internet connection, and any data charges. We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, but live streaming can be affected by venue feeds, networks, devices and third-party infrastructure. We do not promise that every optional feature will work on every device or that a live feed will be uninterrupted.
To operate the one-session rule, support viewers and investigate suspected breaches, we record whether a stream was opened, viewing-session times, reported or estimated watch time, and the devices used. The Privacy notice explains the purposes, access controls and retention period.
If our service fails materially, or a fixture is cancelled, delayed or rescheduled, the remedies in our Refund policy apply. Planned security or maintenance work may temporarily limit access where it cannot reasonably be carried out at another time.
We do not deliberately turn off a production broadcast that belongs to an unresolved pending or paid order or an active multi-fixture pass. Staff must first remove the fixture from affected bundles where appropriate and fully resolve the relevant orders and refund position.
Protected Test fixtures are internal technical rehearsals, are not offered as viewer purchases and may be permanently removed with their fixture-bound test data. Removing a Test fixture does not delete retained order or payment records and does not permit deletion of a production fixture sold to viewers.
9. Intellectual property
The broadcasts, graphics, software, branding and site content are owned by us or licensed to us. Buying a pass gives you only the limited viewing permission described in these terms. It does not transfer any intellectual-property right.
10. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
The service is supplied for personal use. We are not responsible for business losses such as lost profit, revenue, opportunity or goodwill. We are not responsible for a failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, but this does not remove any refund or other right you have under consumer law.
11. Changes to these terms
The version shown above applies to purchases made under that version. We may change these terms for future purchases. We will not retrospectively reduce the core viewing access already included in a paid order, except where required by law or necessary to protect the service and accompanied by any remedy the law requires.
12. Law and disputes
Please contact [email protected] first so we can try to resolve a problem. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, but you keep any mandatory protection provided by the law where you live. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may bring a claim in the courts that apply to your part of the UK where the law allows.
