Current version v1.5.0-beta.18

  1. Version 1.5.0-beta.20

Match tracking and visual coach reports

Unreleased Revision added after the release commit exists
    • The commentator report now opens as a touch-friendly desk with at most two useful headlines and no duplicated score or clock. Tap a point for its explanation, or Browse the match for players, events and stats. Player cards open individual pages, filters and extra figures stay behind expandable controls, and clear back buttons return to the previous layer. Draft Support and Accessibility guidance explains the new layout and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • Release security checks now record a temporary exception for an unused mail-server component with no patched release. Other vulnerability findings still block publication, and the exception expires or blocks if mail-server use or a published fix is detected.
    • Commentator reports now receive live score and clock changes over a protected connection, with reconnecting and polling recovery. Password changes, expiry and Lock report also stop existing connections. Talking points sit alongside browsable play-by-play, sortable player records and individual player details, complete team comparisons and faceoff drilldowns. Search, team, period and event filters, pagination, keyboard focus and unfinished search text are preserved during live refreshes. Draft Privacy/Cookie, Support and Accessibility guidance explains the connection, browsing and pause controls and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • Commentator reports now explain league-feed figures alongside the live match: power-play and penalty-kill samples, player goal involvement, finishing differences, completed-period turnarounds and listed starting-goalie records. Match observations stay separate from multi-game player totals. Source tables show availability and last successful updates; delayed sources are labelled, and finishing comparisons wait when the league goal totals differ from the scoreboard. Live fixtures with commentator access now receive background league-panel refreshes in Full and Custom coverage as well as Automatic coverage. Draft Support and Accessibility guidance explains the new layer and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • Match operators can now share a separate, password-protected commentator report for each fixture. It matches the coach report's styling, full-screen controls and faceoff drilldowns, with score and clock, shots on goal, recent events, team comparisons and player reference figures placed first. Coach and commentator passwords are managed and revoked independently; no viewer account is needed.
    • Commentator talking points adapt to close games, the final five minutes, overtime, active penalty clocks, the latest goal, multi-goal scorers from the fixture goal feed, large shot gaps and clear faceoff splits. Observations show their source and counts, and delayed league figures are labelled. Pause updates holds the visible report for reading while access checks continue. Draft Terms, Privacy, Cookie, Support and Accessibility guidance explains the reports and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • Coach passwords can now be a simple word or numeric PIN of at least four characters. The coach report still requires its fixture password, and staff can replace or revoke access at any time.
    • Coach reports now match the site's black and gold styling and typography. A compact SOG comparison sits above visual faceoff win rates, a clickable rink, period comparison bars and player progress bars arranged for laptop and TV screens. Full screen is available in supported browsers, and longer player lists retain their position during updates. Counts stay visible alongside percentages, and player, spot and period links open the underlying results on phones and larger screens.
    • Match staff can collect faceoffs and stoppage reasons with replay clips switched off. Choose Automatic or Manual in Tracking: automatic detection waits about five seconds, while Record stoppage saves the current period and clock immediately without waiting for the clock to stop. Enter faceoff details or the reason first; saving opens the unfinished step. Repeated submissions reuse the same recording.
    • Stoppage entry puts common reasons on large one-press buttons, with frequently used choices first. Save a new reason to add it to the team's list for later stoppages. Manual faceoffs can be confirmed from live play without a replay or clock restart; automatic replay capture remains available when enabled.
    • Match operators can share a fixture-specific coach report using a password, with no coach account needed. The report shows shots on goal and approved faceoff results for both teams. Open a player, faceoff spot or period for more detail. Reports refresh automatically; staff can replace the password or revoke access, and coach sign-ins last up to twelve hours.
    • Updated draft Terms, Privacy, Cookie, Support and Accessibility guidance explains shared coach passwords, temporary sign-in records, match data sharing and the new tracking controls. The wording remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • Match staff can upload a player CSV with first name, last name, email and the number of redemptions per home fixture. Choose the season and discount percentage, review readable MKL-and-player-name codes, then confirm valid rows. Re-imports keep existing codes and redemption history, and authorised staff can download issued codes for distribution. Imports send no emails; player emails are contact details so intended family viewers can use their own accounts.
    • Updated draft Terms, Privacy, Support and Accessibility guidance explains player allocations, stored contact details and the preview and download controls. The wording remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • Fixture lists now show Live now, Upcoming games and Past games as separate sections. Upcoming games show the next match first, and past games show the most recent first. The same ordering applies before pagination in Games, My Passes, staff fixtures, coverage reports and Django admin, and in staff fixture selectors. Ended or cancelled broadcasts and elapsed fixtures stay out of the upcoming section. Draft Accessibility guidance explains the written section headings and grouped fixture selectors and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • A sitemap now lists public pages, published fixtures' pass pages and visible passes for search engines. Admin and staff pages stay out of the sitemap and tell search engines not to index them. Account pages and sign-in-only match pages are excluded. Beta sites and sites with indexing disabled continue to block indexing and return an empty sitemap.
    • Live match statistics reuse the fixture settings within each response and avoid rewriting unchanged cached rosters. Fresh provider updates and changes made by match staff still take effect without a longer cache delay.
    • Public service notices remain available while a staff account is awaiting its second sign-in step. Notice updates avoid duplicate requests and connections and recover with a short increasing delay when the network is interrupted.
    • Website connections validate their source before using account cookies, limit oversized messages and retain the existing purchase and one-device playback checks. Sensitive account actions also have the normal request protection.
    • Deactivated or deleted accounts stop receiving private match, review and graphics updates from already-open connections when the next update or review request arrives. Staff permission previews keep their selected access limits.
    • Release checks verify the website's collected scripts, styles and images. Operators can publish immutable assets to a separate retained public store before changing releases, keeping old pages and rollbacks supplied with their original files.
    • Technical logs distinguish the approved client address from the proxy connection, keep fault references and slow requests, hide private link values, and omit successful routine health probes. Updated draft Privacy guidance explains operational logs and optional public asset delivery; approval is still required.
  2. Version 1.5.0-beta.17

TV opens your next broadcast automatically

    • Phone approval now shows your next pass-covered broadcast automatically, with the fixture and date, instead of asking you to choose from a list. Current coverage takes priority; otherwise the earliest upcoming eligible broadcast is used. Expired or withdrawn access, hidden fixtures and ended broadcasts are skipped. If the displayed game changes before approval, the phone asks you to reload and confirm it again. Draft TV, Support and Accessibility guidance explains the updated journey and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
  3. Version 1.5.0-beta.16

Consistent icons on phones and tablets

    • Navigation arrows, video and replay controls, stream and purchase statuses, staff indicators and feedback stars now use clear icons in the site's colours instead of device emoji. The icons keep the same appearance on iPhone, iPad and other browsers, with written control labels and status text. Draft Accessibility guidance explains the decorative icons and labelled controls and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
  4. Version 1.5.0-beta.15

Welcome to the new Lightning TV beta

    • The home page now welcomes viewers to the new Lightning TV experience, with a clear beta label and a short introduction above the broadcast. Its page title and search description also explain the beta and live MK Lightning coverage.
  5. Version 1.5.0-beta.14

Goal judge reliability, TV sign-in and beta staff controls

    • You can now open /tv in a compatible TV browser, scan its QR code with your phone, sign in and approve one of your broadcasts. The TV opens that broadcast in a screen-filling player without receiving account or staff access. TV sign-in and phone approval use the site's font, colours and panel styling, with larger TV controls and visible remote focus. A remote-control Start full screen button is available when the browser needs a press to start video or enter full screen. Disconnect or choose another broadcast from the TV; codes expire after ten minutes and TV approval lasts six hours by default.
    • Google Cast requests and receiver checks now run in order, recover briefly from lost acknowledgements without reusing an entry for another action, and release their viewing session when casting stops. Retry keeps the selected TV, and reconnecting only resumes the same active fixture. Old player events cannot interrupt a new TV session. Blocked or deleted accounts stop browser and receiver access; QR-approved TV access also ends when approval expires or the password changes. Receiver credentials and TV confirmation codes are excluded from application request logs. Draft Terms, Privacy/Cookies, Support and Accessibility guidance describes TV approval, its temporary records and browser limitations; personal-data downloads include TV connection activity without its credentials.
    • Goal judge phones now keep their running shots on goal when video OCR or GameStats updates arrive. The viewer scoreboard, match statistics, staff live data and graphics data use the same team totals when basic goal judging is enabled. Phone and API goal entries match correctly when the period uses names such as First or Second. Automatic-only post-game checks no longer report a missing detailed-goal review as a conflict.
    • Judge phones show the assigned fixture and rink end, the current shooting team and that team's game total. Rapid taps wait in order with a visible pending count; delayed saves keep the team, period and clock seen at the tap. Confirmed saves and failures are clearly labelled, uncertain saves retry the same entry without counting twice, and live totals recover by polling if the live connection fails. Expired phone access keeps its recovery guidance visible even when a delayed save finishes. Keep the page open until pending entries are confirmed. Goal includes one shot on goal; Undo removes the judge's last entry.
    • Viewer match statistics keep refreshing while video sends frequent clock updates. Delayed responses and reconnects no longer let an older statistics panel replace a newer one.
    • Coverage settings and match-night guidance now explain that both goal judge phones must be staffed for the running shot totals. Live data shows whether the period is controlled manually or by OCR, with a clear route to change its source. Source changes are recorded; existing fixtures keep their chosen source, and manually controlled periods need an update at every interval. Manual period controls select the current period correctly when OCR uses numbers or names, and require an explicit choice for an unknown period. Draft Accessibility guidance describes the phone controls, save feedback and recovery, and remains subject to legal and organisational approval.
    • Staff menus and fixture tabs now follow each user's permissions, avoiding links to unavailable tools. Sending a fan message from Live data requires message moderation permission. The beta performance page now opens correctly inside the staff workspace, and opening staff directories avoids unnecessary permission updates that could delay other staff using the site.
  6. Version 1.5.0-beta.12

    More reliable deployment backup checks

    • Deployment backup checks now wait for the database to finish starting before configuring and testing backups. A temporary startup connection no longer starts setup too early, and an unavailable database stops the check with a clear timeout instead of continuing.
